Recently Petra Lazlo, Hungarian camerawomen, garnered a lot of criticism after a video captured her intentionally tripping down a refugee father who was carrying his boy Ziad at the Hungarian village of Roszke. This incident sparked worldwide outrage as a
result of which Lazlo was fired and she later apologized for her inhuman action. The father, Osama Alabed Almohse, is amongst those thousands of refugees who have fled Syria to take shelter in other countries so as to protect themselves and their families from the war torn region of Syria.
However, soon their story became international news and the world learned that Almohse worked as a soccer coach in Syria. So, in order to restore their faith in humanity and give them some respect, Almohse was invited to coach at CENAFE, which is a Spanish school that trains potential coaches for football. The father and son duo also met Real Madrid’s president which according to Forbes is the world’s most valuable sports team.
However, Ziad was on top of the world on Saturday when he got a rare chance of wearing the crisp jersey of the team while walking on the sports field with Cristiano Ronaldo and other recognizable sports starts. Ronald, along with the rest of the Real Madrid squad wore jerseys to express their support for the people who have fled their country and are forced to become refugees. The team also plans to donate a whopping amount of 1 million Euros towards this noble cause.
The team plans to help Almohse in attaining a refugee status in Spain where he’ll be able to learn Spanish and earn a respectable job. For Ziad, however, his plights seemed to be the last thing on his mind.
