Finally, the much awaited statement of the moment is out as PM Modi expresses his take on the Dadri Lynching of Mohammad Akhlaq. The PM, during the election rally in Nawada Bihar, expressed his democratic ideas and broke the long eight-day silence on the communal conflict.
Twitter was trending, Facebook was sharing, pens were the swords, dignity was challenged, and conscience was paralyzed as an uncertain mob suspected and killed the 52-years old Mohammad Akhlaq. What was his crime? Well, he was suspected of killing and consuming a calf! The religious intolerance was at its peak, and the world was expecting some answers from PM Modi. The Prime Minister of India, who was widely criticized for maintaining silence on the issue, went ahead to express his take during a political election rally.
What Did PM Modi Finally Said?
“I have said it earlier too. Hindus should decide whether to fight Muslims or poverty. Muslims have to decide whether to fight Hindus or poverty. Both need to fight poverty together. The country has to stay united, only communal harmony and brotherhood will take the nation forward. People should ignore controversial statements made by politicians, as they are doing so for political gains” said PM Modi according to the Hindu. Meanwhile, PM Modi also cited the President Pranab Mukherjee’s quote, as the later said a day before yesterday during the book release event.
PM Modi advocated that Mr. Mukherjee’s showed the way to the best guidance we can exercise as a nation. We all have to follow the path of righteousness!
Response and Retaliation:
Soon after the statement went on air, the Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, ridiculed the delayed statement from PM Modi. He said it took few days to Mr. Modi for breaking the silence. Though the take was diplomatic, yet we are happy that the silence is finally over. On similar lines, the former Union Minister R.P.N Singh also condemned PM Modi’s words, calling it ‘just condemning’ for adding new twists.
Thank You Dear PM for Finally Breaking the Ice:
“Log Ulti Seedhi Baate karenge Rajneeti ke liye (People will talk all sort of nonsense for the sake of politics). Just don’t pay attentions to them! Even if it is Narendra Modi himself, you should avoid listening” added PM Modi.
Dear Sir, we want to avoid all sort of nonsensical opinions. But it really hurts when the verdict comes from the influential lot of the society. The minister that were chosen by us- the people who should actually guide our way! What is independence without freedom? What is Unity without Respect? What is Peace without Security? And who will answer our questions?
