Google has always come up with new ideas and methodologies that can help and ease out the daily life of the people. Now, the company has attempted to create a mobile app for those living in the Indian capital, Delhi to help them commute easily without any hassle. Their new android app, Delhi Public Transport Offline, is an app which will be helping millions of commuters who travel from one corner of Delhi to another in public transport.
The app supports DMRC Metro, DTC buses, DIMTS Orange buses and Gurgaon Rapid Transit. With this app, users will now be able to find bus and metro routes much more easily without the need of an internet connection. Apart from looking-up directions for your destination, this app by Google will also let you take a view regarding the metro and bus timetables while receiving notifications related to the Delhi transit news and anything related to metro delays.
The app, in its functionality, is said to be extremely similar to apps like Moovit and Citymapper which are yet to arrive in India to offer their services. This swift move by Google will obviously help it to lead in the section of apps related to public transit journey planning. Google, on the other hand, believes that this app is more of an experimental app which implies it might need some work in the future.
The app will be available for free on the Google Play Store and is expected to help millions of citizens in Delhi who have to commute daily using public transport systems.
