We’ve been hearing many rumours for HTC’s upcoming phone, the One A9, for weeks now. While earlier it was said that the company was all set to release it, however, now it’s being heard that the launch might suffer a bit of delay. What’s more surprising is that the phone was earlier being speculated as a flagship phone, however, new reports from insiders reveal that the One A9 might just be a mid-ranger that will use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 chipset.
The Snapdragon 617, which was launched by Qualcomm only a week ago, is based on the new octa-core architecture. While the phone is definitely expected to have mid-range specs, but the price won’t be especially if you go according to the listing of one Dutch retailer who is said to be taking pre-orders for this phone at €706.64 including VAT that comes up to $800. The phone will be offered in four colour variations; the Topaz Gold, Opal Silver, Deep Garnet and Carbon Grey.
However, before you drift away from the One A9 owing to its mid range specs and ridiculously high price tag, you should remember that retailers often like putting up similar pre-order on their sites for upcoming smartphones without having any knowledge about the phone’s pricing. By doing this, they get ample traffic and once the phone is actually launched, its price turns out to be completely different.
The HTC One A9 will boast of a fingerprint sensor and will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The phone could most probably become official at September 29.
