All those who are a big fan of Ravindra Jadeja and were amongst those who showered him with the title of “Sir” can finally start rejoicing since the all-rounder is all set to be a part of Team India’s squad after a long gap of gap of around 14 months. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced this good news for the all-rounder from Saurashtra and said that he will be a part of the new squad for the upcoming Test series.
Sir Jadeja was picked by because of his recent stint of playing two successful domestic matches in current Ranji trophy by bagging 24 wickets. Harbhajan Singh, on the hand, wasn’t included in the squad.
The All-India Senior Selection Committee which is headed by Sandeep Patil met yesterday in New Delhi so as to finalise the names for the squad of the test matches along with the squad for two one-day-internationals. Another major replacement that is being made in the ODI squad is with Sreenath Arvind who will replace his fellow seamer Umesh Yadav.
Apart from making these crucial changes to the squad, the team will also have to keep a watch on the fitness of spinner R Ashwin who was injured recently. At presen, South Africa leads this five-match ODI series by 2-1. The remaining two matches are two be played in Chennai and Mumbai respectively after which the Test series will commence from November 5 at Mohali, Nagpur, Bengaluru and Delhi.
